Application procedure

Master edition 2019-2021: The call for applications is open!

Please note that for this edition, Erasmus Mundus scholarships are available. You will find more details about the scholarship offer in the Scholarships section.

The application is done online at a special platform: http://www.emundus.univ-montp2.fr/.

We invite you to create your personal account and then follow the instructions. The platform will register all the documents in electroncial form you have to submit (find the list below). You can interrupt the submission at any time and continue later. You can submit scanned documents in several formats, however PDF format is strongly recommended. You can easily find free of charge software online for converting documents into pdf.

You must submit your complete application before the deadline, otherwise it will not be validated. When you have finished and still connected to the application area, you will be redirected to the top of the page and the message "Status of your actual application" "Application sent" will appear. You will also receive an e-mail confirming the reception of your application.

If you are unable to provide one of the requested documents, please upload a document explaining the reason. If you obtain the demanded document after the application deadline, send it to us by e-mail as soon as you can.

Please do not send any documents whatsoever by post at this stage. When the selection process is over, successful candidates will be nvited to send their originals (or certified copies).

If you are offered a place in the EM3E-4SW Master, with an Erasmus Mundus cholarship or on a self-paying basis, your data may be used for the purposes of evaluating the programmes, efficiently manage the projects, and producing statistics. Data could be made available to the EACEA, the European Commission, the European External Action Service staff, as well as to other stakeholders of the Erasmus+ programme, such as Erasmus+ National Agencies, National Erasmus+ Offices and the Erasmus Mundus Student and Alumni Association. We value your privacy.

Requested documents

  1. Application form duly filled out (online form).
  2. Photo.
  3. Detailled Curriculum Vitae in English specifying scientific and professional experiences, academic degrees, conference presentations, publications and special skills. Maximum 3 pages.
  4. Letter of motivation in English covering the following aspects: what made you apply to the EM3E-4SW Master, the skills and abilities that make you a good candidate, your motivations for studying in an international context, your professional interests as well as your career goals and expectations. Non-European candidates must describe their goals and interests in coming to Europe for education (statement of purpose). Maximum 1 page. The letter must be provided in 2 copies: one handwritten, one typed.
  5. Academic degree(s), including the original diploma and a translation into English if it isn't the language of the diploma, stating the final classification obtained. Only send university degrees and other relevant higher education documents - do not send secondary/high school diplomas.
    Please note that if you are in the process of obtaining your Bachelor's degree, you may also apply to the EM3E-4SW Master. In this case, please upload a letter from your university stating the expected date of completion of the degree. After graduation, you have to submit the degree and official transcripts before the start of the EM3E-4SW Master (2nd of September 2019)
  6. Academic transcript(s) in original language and translated into English, if necessary, listing the grade/rank/mark of each discipline/subject attended. All courses taken must be included. Please only inlcude transcripts from university/BSc/college level - do not send secondary/high school documents.
  7. An official ranking document, from the last higher education institution attended (College, University, Technical School...), stating your relative position in the corresponding graduation course, i.e., top 5%, top 10% or top 20% of your Bologna 1st cycle class or of your bachelor’s course.
  8. Official proof of English language proficiency. English language tests accepted are: TOEFL-iBT (required overall score of at least 90), IELTS (required overall score of at least 6,5), University of Cambridge (“Certificate of Proficiency in English” or “Certificate in Advanced English”). Other official proof could be admitted by validation of the EM3E-4SW committee.
    Exception: Candidates from English speaking countries. If English was the medium of instruction of your bachelor degree, you must provide an official letter from your university attesting this.
  9. Official proofs of proficiency in other languages  (where applicable).
  10. Two reference letters* in English. The first referee should be from the faculty from which you obtained your degree. The second, from your faculty or from an employer or supervisor. The letters have to be written on on paper with the letterhead of the referee’s organisation, include the signature and the contact details of the referee, and (when possible) bear the stamp of the institution. Letters not respecting these requirements will NOT be accepted.
  11. Passport (preferably) or national id card.
  12. Proof of residence (e.g. residence certificate or certificate from the applicant's place of work, study or training). The document must have been issued within the period of 1st of February 2018 ans 31st of January 2019 and include your name and place of residence/work (address, city, country).

* In order to submit the reference letters, you have two possibilities:

- You can provide the e-mail addresses of your referees in the application form. The referee will then receive a personal e-mail with instructions to upload the letter. When it's done, the reception of the letter is registered in the application platform but you will not be able to see the document itself.

- If your referee provide you with the original letter, you can upload the electronic document yourself using the application software.

- In both cases, selected students will be asked to provide the originals of their reference letters.
