The University of Twente is an entrepreneurial research university. It was founded in 1961 and offers education and research in areas ranging from public policy studies and applied physics to biomedical technology. The UT is the Netherlands' only campus university. The University of Twente currently has over 5200 Bachelor students, 2300 Master students and 800 PhD students. Education (including BSc and MSc) at the UT is organized in courses that are allocated in faculties, such as the Faculty of Science and Technology. All MSc courses are taught in English. Research (including PhD) is organized in multidisciplinary research institutes, such as the IMPACT, MESA+ and BMTI institutes.
